The Team meet Neil Bibby

A Parliamentary Motion was lodged by Neil Bibby, MSP, congratulating Sewing2gether All Nations on the work it does in the community, including winning two awards; Creative Lives Scotland and a Generations Working Together Excellence Award. Since the motion, we have had further recognition with volunteer Jeanne winning the 2024 Renfrewshire Inspirational Community Volunteer award.

That the Parliament congratulates Sewing2gether All Nations, which is a charity for refugees based in Paisley, on winning two awards for the work that it does throughout the community; recognises that the organisation, based at Mossvale Community Church in the town, launched in 2018 and provides creative skills workshops, including sewing upcycling along with life skill training for refugees and asylum seekers who wish to learn English and meet new people; notes that it has been awarded a Creative Lives Award for its One Millie All Nations project in collaboration with Journeys in Design, and that it also received a Generations Working Together Excellence Award for the charity's actions in tackling climate change, and understands that this was achieved through its creative upcycling workshops, where participants not only learn valuable sewing skills but also transform donated and discarded fabrics, saving them from landfill by making purposeful items.

Neil Bibby met with sessional staff and volunteers at their base in Mossvale Community Church and presented them with a Certificate commemorating the Motion. They spent time sharing about the ongoing growth of the charity, and some of the individual stories of lives impacted by participating in the services the charity provides.
